Mission and Core Values

Through Service, Discipleship, and Fellowship, the men's ministry seeks to develop men to glorify God by:

• Equipping men to practice spiritual disciplines in Prayer, Worship, Bible Study, Stewardship, Service, and Evangelism
• Promoting active participants in the worship, service and fellowship of Christ Baptist Church 
• Teaching the Biblical principles of what it means to be a godly man
• Holding men accountable to spiritual and moral purity
• Encouraging the development of healthy relationships with other men
• Providing the training and encouragement in God' s word and what it means to walk daily as a godly man
• Assessing the needs of the men of Christ Baptist and develop the necessary ways to support, help, and encourage them

2 Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness...6 Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. 7 Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, 8 and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us. Titus 2:2, 6-8

Discipleship is a calling for all followers of Jesus. Jesus spent his ministry building a relationship with and discipling twelve men for them to disciple others. Discipleship occurs naturally through relationships and involves:

• Training the basics of the Christian faith: Salvation, The church, Bible Study, and Spiritual Disciplines
• Admonishing or calling one another to faith and repentance
• Edifying
• Teaching sound doctrine (theology)
• Training in evangelism, leadership, and apologetics
• Making disciples who make disciples
• Equipping men to practice spiritual

And they devoted themselves to the apostles 'teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe[al came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47
